Download Harvard Business Review posted an article they published in late 2017 on LinkedIn. The article is entitled "Your Strategy Should Be a Hypothesis You Constantly Adjust." This article advocates that companies should 'fuse' strategy and execution and it is one in many that have been recently touting the demise of the classical strategic planning process in favor of agility, constant pivoting, responsiveness to market, etc. The LinkedIn commentaries on the article highlighted the mixed views with respect to the topic. During this presentation, Mohamed provided a critical evaluation of the strategic planning cycle as it carefully balances the top-down with the emergent strategies and provide real life examples on the role of a well-structured portfolio management process and how it could be an enabler for strategy, execution and even innovation to co-exist.
